WHY YOU’LL LOVE ESSENTRICS® Aging Backwards...

This dynamic workout will activate all your muscles, free your joints, and increase mobility. Dynamic and easy to follow—Essentrics® full body technique carefully works through your muscle chains in order to liberate, empower and relieve them from tension. The focus of Aging Backwards 45-minute class is to relax during movement so as not to flare-up existing conditions such as arthritis, frozen shoulder, back pain or sciatica.

Essentrics draws on the flowing movements of tai chi which create health and balance, the strengthening theories behind ballet which create long, lean, flexible muscles and the healing principles of physiotherapy which create a pain-free body.

Create a youthful feeling body, Help relieve pain, Unlock tight muscles and joints, Increase flexibility and mobility, Strengthen the spine and core, Improve posture, Provide tone, lean, defined muscles, Perfect for injury recovery and prevention, pain relief, stress release, and promoting healing.

Essentrics® Aging Backwards and Essentrics® Fitness & a Ballet Body classes will be held through the City of Seal Beach Recreation Department beginning with the 2021 Summer Session.

History of Essentrics®: Over  twenty  years ago,  former professional ballet dancer  Miranda  Esmonde-White created the  Essentrics®  technique—a dynamic  stretch workout  for all fitness levels  designed  to engage  all  650 muscles and 3o joints.

In the late 1990s Esmonde-White  developed her workout   into  the  highly acclaimed  20-year running  fitness television  show, Classical  Stretch®, for the PBS  network.

Fueled by a passion to educate viewers about the science of aging and movement, Miranda ventured  into scientific and lifestyle books: New  York  Times  bestseller, Aging Backwards, the Nautilus award-winner, Forever Painless and most recently, Aging Backwards: Fast Track—which yielded award-winning documentaries for PBS of the same name.

Elite One-to-One Personal Training

In Person and/or Online Personal Training provides you with motivation, accountability, education and results that only come from working with a skilled, certified personal trainer. Having a Personal Trainer keeps you on track for reaching your important fitness and wellbeing goals.

Personal training priorities change once we cross into our fifties, sixties and beyond. It’s no longer exclusively about six-pack abs or having perfect proportions – although these are fun to attain.

Perhaps over the years you have had to assist frail elderly parents. Or you’ve seen those awful “Help, I’ve fallen and can’t get up” commercials.  These unwanted instances stir determination in us to develop and maintain what WildFire! calls Vibrant Longevity, as seen through strength, vigor, posture, balance and a joyful attitude.
In Personal Trainer language we develop and sustain Vibrant Longevity through three general modes of exercise. This fitness programming includes: 1. Mobility Training, comprised of movement skill and coordination, which reduces muscle tension and improves joint range of motion – allowing us to improve coordination and dynamic balance; 2. Core Strength Training is control of the body’s center of gravity through generation of force production and muscle coordination, which helps elevate resting metabolism, enhances overall posture and performance and defers onset of chronic disease; 3. Metabolic Conditioning is the increase of energy expenditure for weight loss and efficiency at which the lungs place oxygen and heart pumps blood throughout the body for cardiorespiratory and cardiovascular health.*

Eunis WildFire!’s elite personal training first includes a one-to-one assessment, specific to your health and fitness priorities and goals. That way your objectives can be obtained in the context of your current physical condition. For additional information on affordable personal training sessions please call 562-879-1954.

Golf Fitness Class

“TrueToMyBody’s six-week Golf Fitness curriculum is based on the Titleist Performance Institute’s, MyTPI.com, belief that golfers benefit most from a healthy and efficient body. TPI’s philosophy is that there is not just one way to swing a club, but rather one efficient way for every player to swing and it is based on what the player physically can do.

As a TPI Level 3 Certified Fitness Professional, WildFire! helps determine the age 50+ golfer’s efficient swing by applying TPI’s Body-Swing Connection™ foundational physical assessment. The assessment can be completed through an interactive online setting. The basic physical screen provides introductory insight into one’s golf swing. For example, inability to perform the Overhead Deep Squat assessment often reveals Swing Characteristics such as Early Extension (possibly leading to shanking shots) and Loss of Posture (affecting timing, balance and rhythm) of the golf swing.

Lack of mobility often may be the first issue the physical assessment reveals. Once any mobility dysfunction has been addressed, we progress to stability, then strength and power progressions, showing exercises which you can perform at home. Our intent is to help you play as long as possible while adding more “yards to your years.”

Golf Fitness Personal Training is conducted at WildFire!’s fully equipped functional training patio gym.

Additionally Add More Yards! Golf Fitness for Boomers/Seniors four-week introductory small group series will be held through the City of Seal Beach Recreation Department in July and October, 2021, at the Seal Beach Tennis Center on Lampson Rd., Seal Beach, CA.
